If the Huion Kamvas 13 is not really even a drawing tablet and just displays whatever is on my screen is there really even a difference in it and my computer? Why would I pay hundreds of dollars on a tablet that does exactly what my computer does but uses a pen instead of a mouse? And even then I’m pretty sure windows has a pen you can use. I wanted the Huion Kamvas because from all of the tutorials and reviews I saw online were really professional and since I am an adult now I wanted to move on from drawing on IBIS Paint X and animating on Flipaclip and get something more progressional… When I looked up I could connect my Huion to my phone I thought that maybe I could use IBIS and since I’d be on my Huion things would be different but as the world seems to be out to get me… I have an iPhone and apparently the Huion is not compatible with my phone… The problem is the tablet displays everything including the cursor so I looked up everywhere how to make the cursor invisible so I could just draw with the pen and it says it won’t let me. I expected a built in software with a tablet if it costs that much… but I just had to deal with it and began looking at drawing apps I can display on my Huion only to find that there are no good free ones? So you’re telling me I have to pay MONTHLY packages 20-50$ in range (Toonbooms offers went up to 120$ monthly!) to draw on my OWN tablet that I got for hundreds of dollars? I searched for about an hour for a free software that I could use for my drawings and settled on Firealpaca which is… not bad. After reading the manual I kind of just went “…is that it? How do I draw? Is there a Home Screen where I can get to the drawing software?” And then it hit me… It does not come with a pre-downloaded illustration software… I don’t understand… What was the point of me getting the tablet if I can just draw with my computer? What did I buy if not a drawing tablet? A 300$ HDMI cord?
As I was setting up my new purchase I noticed I could not use it without my computer… I thought this was strange as it seemed portable and I would like to draw on the go. When I found out you could connect it to your computer I was even more happy that way I could screen record my speed paints. Now when I hear the words “Drawing Tablet” I imagine a tablet you turn on and boom you draw. I just got the Huion Kamvas 13 and I was ecstatic to try it out.
